Original vs. Restored

Original (1997)

  • Required Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator 4.0
  • Used HTML 3.2 with framesets
  • Required Flash plugin for animations
  • Required VRML plugin for 3D models
  • Required QuickTime for video
  • Auto-played WAV audio files

Restoration (2025)

  • Works in all modern browsers
  • Uses HTML5 with CSS flexbox layout
  • Uses static images for Flash content
  • Uses Three.js for 3D models
  • Uses HTML5 video for QuickTime content
  • Uses HTML5 audio with user controls

The restoration preserves the visual appearance and navigation structure of the original, while making it accessible in modern browsers without plugins.

Digital Archaeology Note: This is a modern restoration of a 1997 web application. The original used Flash animations, auto-playing WAV files, frames, and obsolete web technologies. These have been replaced with HTML5 equivalents while preserving the original look and navigation structure. Background images are now more visible, and redundant copyright footers have been removed.
